1. App Definition and Scope
HabitClub is a habit tracking and social motivation mobile application developed with React Native/Expo for iOS and Android platforms. The app uses Firebase backend infrastructure and operates on a freemium model with both free and premium subscription options. By using HabitClub, you agree to these terms of use.
2. User Account and Registration
Account creation is available through email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. Users are responsible for account security and must provide accurate information. Account sharing and providing false information are prohibited.
3. Free Tier Limitations
Free tier users have the following limitations:
- Maximum 2 club ownerships (1 habit club, 1 task club)
- Maximum 2 club memberships (1 habit club, 1 task club)
- Maximum 2 members per club (owner + 1 member)
- Maximum 3 personal habits
- Maximum 3 personal tasks
- Specific time reminder for habits
- Maximum 1 reminder for tasks
- Access to only 2 basic themes (default, ocean)
4. Premium Features and Subscription
Premium subscribers enjoy expanded limits and features:
- Up to 1000 habits and 1000 tasks
- Up to 100 club ownerships and 200 club memberships
- Up to 100 members per club
- Specific time & interval reminders for habits (every 1 hour, 2 hours)
- 10 reminders for tasks
- Access to all themes
5. Club Types and Performance
HabitClub supports different club types with recommended member limits for optimal performance. Focused clubs work best with up to 10 members (max 50), while Lifestyle clubs can accommodate up to 15 members (max 100). Performance warnings appear for clubs with 25+ members, and some features may be disabled for clubs with 50+ members.
6. Social Features and Conduct
HabitClub includes social features such as in-club messaging, friend invitations, habit/task sharing, leaderboards, and statistics. Users must follow community guidelines:
- No inappropriate content sharing
- No spam or harassment
- Comply with club rules
- Respect other users
- Use social features responsibly
7. Content and Data Ownership
Users own their data and content. HabitClub has the right to use data for service provision and may share content within clubs as authorized by users. The app provides backup, synchronization, and data export features. Users retain control over their personal information and content.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
User data is securely stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore with GDPR and CCPA compliance. Users have control over their data and the right to delete it. Push notifications can be managed by users. Third-party integrations include RevenueCat and Expo services, each with their own privacy policies.
9. Subscription and Payment Terms
Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and follow Apple App Store and Google Play Store payment policies. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Cancellation and refund policies are governed by the respective app stores.
10. Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Reverse engineering the application
- Using automated bots or scripts
- Threatening system security
- Harassing other users
- Creating fake accounts
- Commercial misuse of the platform
11. Intellectual Property Rights
HabitClub brand, designs, theme packages, visuals, application code, and algorithms are protected intellectual property. User-generated content is subject to licensing conditions as specified in the app. Users retain rights to their personal content while granting necessary licenses for app functionality.
12. Service Interruptions and Maintenance
HabitClub may experience planned maintenance (with advance notice) or emergency interventions. While we strive for reliable service, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Users are responsible for backing up their important data, though the app provides backup features.
13. Account Suspension and Termination
Accounts may be suspended or terminated for rule violations. Users have the right to delete their accounts at any time. Data retention periods and appeal processes are clearly defined. Upon account deletion, user data will be removed according to our data retention policy.
14. Limitation of Liability
HabitClub's liability is limited regarding service interruptions, data loss, third-party service issues, and user behavior. Users acknowledge that they use the service at their own risk and that HabitClub cannot be held responsible for all possible issues that may arise.
15. Updates and Changes
HabitClub may receive regular updates to improve functionality and security. Changes to these terms of use will be updated on this page. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of updated terms.
16. Legal Compliance
Users must comply with local laws and regulations. International usage may be subject to restrictions. Age requirements must be met, and users must follow platform rules (App Store, Play Store). HabitClub reserves the right to restrict access in certain jurisdictions.
17. Support and Communication
Customer support is available through designated channels within the app. Users can report bugs, provide feedback, and receive assistance. Legal notices and important communications will be delivered through the app or email as appropriate.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by applicable laws in our jurisdiction. Disputes will be resolved through appropriate legal channels, with arbitration clauses applying where legally permissible. Users agree to attempt good faith resolution of disputes before pursuing legal action.
